RGS-Singapore presents our final event of 2026: "Rhinos Across Continents: From African Strongholds to Asia's Last Refuges"!
Join globally renowned rhino conservationist Dr. Markus Hofmeyr, Director of the Rhino Recovery Fund, as he travels from South Africa to share hard-won insights from a lifetime on the frontlines of conservation.
Drawing on decades of experience across Africa and Asia, Dr. Hofmeyr makes a powerful case for holistic conservation: Rhinos will only be safe if all stakeholders - including local ones living with or near rhino - find rhino relevant. In this talk, he shows what that principle looks like in practice.
Special attention will be given to Asia, where he works in Indonesia, India and Nepal to protect the last remaining Javan, Sumatran and Greater One-Horned rhinos. Not long ago, Africa’s rhinos stood at numbers comparable to those of Asia’s rhinos today—yet they staged a remarkable recovery. What lessons can Asia draw from that turnaround?
Join us at the Hollandse Club Singapore on 19 November 2026 for a compelling evening of science, stories and practical hope for the future of one of the world’s most iconic species.
